Our California division, located in Huntington Beach, is seeking a Quality Inspector.
Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for evaluating, measuring and testing, documenting and reporting the status of incoming, in-process and final inspection quality of all manufactured products per the requirements of the Process Control Plan. The Quality Inspector will also initiate control of any non-conforming or suspect product and issue a non-conformance report. The successful candidate will be committed to the highest level of integrity, trust and responsibility and bring a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Verification of product conformance to company and customer requirements including manufacturing plans, internal audits, policies, work instructions, quality records, specifications drawings, acceptance gages and tooling as stated on the process control plan.
- Perform all inspection and testing of in-process, first-piece off, last piece and final inspection of finished products and raw materials.
- Effectively interact with production operators and production supervisors to adjust and trouble-shoot in-process products manufactured.
- Identify and notify production when non-conformance or process related problems arise.
- Perform product inspections, tests, and visual examinations as required by established test methods and procedures.
- Responsible for documenting all inspections and tests performed on appropriate documentation utilizing legible and neat handwriting/printing.
- Responsible for documenting non-conformances on appropriate forms and communicating non-conformances to QC.
- Responsible for maintaining entries of non-conformances.
- Responsible for maintaining QC Inspection logs and accuracy of same.
- Responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly work area and orderliness of general QC areas after each use of such areas.
- Must ensure adherence to the quality control standards.
- Work closely with all team members to meet Company and customer requirements consistently.
- Identify raw material condition by collecting materials samples, conducting inspections and physical testing of materials.
- Identify in-process product condition by collecting samples during production process, conducting in-process inspections and physical tests.
- Conduct re-inspections to determine acceptability of rework.
- Document finished product status by recording and summarizing raw materials, in-process, and finished-product inspection and physical test data; updating quality assurance database.
- Authority to “stop production” if product does not meet requirements.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Two to five years of quality inspection experience in a metal stamping or machining manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical measuring instruments including calipers, gauges, and micrometers and advanced measurement equipment (CMM).
