Our facility in Cambridge, ON is searching for an individual to design, develop, and implement automated equipment, machinery, and control systems for precision-based tasks to enhance efficiency, reduce human error, and streamline production. Using a combination of technology, engineering, and programming skills build systems that can perform repetitive tasks without human intervention. Ensure that automated systems are functional, efficient, and safe. What You Will Be Doing:
Develop and design automation systems and control systems for automated machinery and processes based on project requirements.
Analyze existing manual processes and recommend automation improvements.
Create specifications and programming for automated systems.
Configure software and tools to automate processes and operations.
Program PLCs, HMI, robots, vision, servo, and other control systems, write code for automation tools.
Ensure proper communication between various system components.
Integrate new control systems with existing equipment.
Design control panels and electrical systems as needed.
Debug and troubleshoot code, ensuring that automated systems are running smoothly.
Perform system tests to verify functionality, performance, and reliability.
Conduct risk assessments and ensure system robustness and safety.
Create and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of system design, processes, and code including diagrams, wiring schematics, troubleshooting guides, system modifications, updates, and maintenance activities.
Work with vendors and suppliers to select appropriate components for automation solutions.
Develop cost, equipment requirements, timing implementation schedules, training, area layouts and manpower requirements.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency with automation tools and systems such as robotics, motion control, variable frequency drives (VFDs), conveyor systems, automated testing tools.
Knowledge of electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, and control panel designs.
Strong programming skills,
Thorough knowledge in:
Rockwell PLC programming
HMI- Allen Bradley PanelView and Sneider Electric
Fanuc Robot commissioning and programming.
Familiarity with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex issues and provide solutions efficiently.
Familiarity with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and DCS (Distributed Control System) systems.
Strong knowledge and understanding of safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E) in control systems.
