Position Summary
The Staff Accountant Responsible for accurately maintaining financial and accounting books and records, processing and recording various accounting and other transactions, preparing reports, and completing a variety of administrative tasks.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for the division’s accounts receivable and accounts payable duties, including all data entry to ERP manufacturing software.
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepares monthly general ledger reconciliations.
- Determines monthly accrued liabilities.
- Prepares and posts monthly general journal entries.
- Tracks scrap transactions and ties payments to general shipping documents.
- Assists in the collection of past due customer invoices.
- Assists in the matching of division purchase orders with package slips and vendor invoices; approves invoice for payment via verification of quantities received or satisfaction with service rendered and assigns account distribution.
- Assist Controller with monthly financial statements and the year-end financial audit. .
- Assist in the administration and control of the financial operation of the division.
- Assist with weekly payroll processing.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Complete understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, business concepts and operations as it relates to the finances.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is helpful.
- Skilled in accounting systems, ERP basics, and advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
