Summary
This Quality Engineer ensures the correct use of advanced quality planning and engineering to enhance quality, reliability and acceptance of system, processes and products. Provide a professional level of quality customer service to both internal and external customers/suppliers.
This position requires minimal travel, approximately 15% of your time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Deploy quality standards and best practices.
- Prepare and present reports on quality performance to senior management.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing and resolving quality-related concerns.
- Monitor the performance of the product quality and reliability systems.
- Generate and maintain accurate documentation relating to quality, reliability and process.
- Implement prevention/detection systems to eliminate problems that affect quality and reliability.
- Prepare and present PPM (parts per million) reports, cost of quality reports, Leadership Scorecard and other metrics reports.
- Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving.
- Utilize SPC techniques to monitor process parameters and ensure product conformity.
- Accurately files all Quality paperwork (customer complaints, control plans, quality alerts, weekly logs, etc.)
- Take active part in training and helping others as required and participate in continuous improvement teams as required.
- Participate in pre-production activities as quality representative.
- Complete Quality System audits of supplier on-site, and follow-up audit and corrective action.
- Issue supplier non-conformance and follow-up corrective action, and problem solving with suppliers.
- Coordinate Management Review process
- Assist is supplier evaluations for on-site audits.
Qualifications, Education, Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in quality management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations (IATF 16949:2016 AS 9100:D & ISO 9001:2015)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
