Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience as a Machine Tool Builder/General Machinist
  • Experience in the field of Automated equipment build and maintenance is an asset.
  • Certificate in a related trade or a college diploma in related discipline in the field of automation and manufacturing is an advantage.  Graduate of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology (2-3 year Robot and Automation Program)
  • Knowledge of automated manufacturing and control systems.
  • Hands on experience with machine tools and fabrication equipment
  • Experience with assembly machinery (medium to complex)
  • Knowledge and experience with formal documentation systems and methods particularly QMS, EMS, H&S
  • Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
  • Assemble machine parts and components with focus on quality and timely completion.
  • Create jigs and fixture for improvements in build.
  • Proceed with floor assembly according to floor plan layout, assembling the job in a safe and proper order following established procedures.
  • Understand machine functions; alter, fit, and adjust components, assemblies, and precision tooling for the function, if needed.
  • Install and test completed machines, tools, jigs, and fixtures to ensure proper functionality.
  • Work effectively collaborating and coordinating with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and solve issues.
  • Learn and work from evaluating available bench mark systems in the field.
  • Setup and operate various machine tools, such as manual lathes and mills, operate a wide variety of hand tools (Mag. drill, grinder, etc.).
  • Apply knowledge of mechanisms, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to be more efficient and effective at work.
  • Communicate and be a channel of any constructive or objective ideas that arise, helping to keep the manufacturing standards up-to-date and at the highest level.  Use the team as a pool of technical knowledge, solving problems together efficiently.
  • Assist in creating technical training documentation and oversee training of other employees.
