Summary

The Electrician/Mechanic will be responsible for performing needed preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities. The successful candidate will be committed to the highest level of integrity, trust and responsibility; bring a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations, and exhibit strong leadership, planning and management skills.

General Duties

  • Set up, adjust and maintain industrial production machinery.
  • Plan and conduct equipment upgrades and rebuilds.
  • Fabricate and repair all furnace fixtures and fabricate/purchase/install replacement parts as needed.
  • Design and fabricate new equipment as instructed by management.
  • Perform equipment repair involving furnace brick and high temperature insulation blanket.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to vacuum furnace hot zone and manifold train.
  • Program and verification of parameters on temperature controllers.
  • Diagnostics and repair/replacement of temperature sensing and control instrumentation.
  • Diagnose and repair moderate electrical problems involving motors and electric furnace heaters.
  • Perform necessary electrical installations.
  • Maintain necessary records of repairs; enter completed work orders in computer.
  • Inspect on a routine basis electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards or issues.
  • Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
  • Operate all machine shop equipment.
  • Responsible for completing any task related to the electrical components of the machinery and equipment.
  • Responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues with electrical equipment.
  • Perform all phases of welding, plasma cutting and welding repairs.
  • Support and train production personnel on how to operate the machinery safely.
  • In absence of Maintenance Manager assumes responsibility as Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Provides limited supervision and guidance to Mechanic Grade B.


Education and Experience

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED with a 2-Year Technical Degree or Equivalent Experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing preferably in Metal Related Industry or heat treating.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of shop mathematics.
  • Knowledge of blueprint and electrical reading.
  • PLC
  • Forklift operation.
  • Crane operation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others.
  • Supervisory Skils
  • Must be able to analyze relevant Electrical Systems and use deductive reasoning to figure out what part of the system is causing it to malfunction.
